Adonidia merrillii (Christmas Palm) seeds
Easy to grow, small palm from the Philippines with a neat and tidy habit making it an ideal patio plant or houseplant. As it is a subtropical species, Adonidia will not tolerate frost but can be moved outdoors in summer. The Christmas Palm forms a slender trunk topped with a crown of arching, feathery fronds. Very easy to look after, will tolerate under and over watering and dry air. So if you are a notorious killer of houseplants, it may be worth giving this little palm a try!

Sowing Instructions: Sow 2cm deep in small pots of moist seed compost mixed 50:50 with vermiculite. Place in a propagator or cover with a polythene bag and place in any other warm place (eg. on a windowsill above a radiator). Germination can take up to 3 months.
Growing Instructions: Grow the seedlings on, re-potting as necessary and position in a bright, sunny or semi-shaded spot indoors. Plants cannot tolerate frost but will benefit from being moved outdoors in summer to a sheltered spot out of strong winds.
