Geranium pratense (Meadow Cranesbill) seeds
Lovely British native wildflower with gorgeous violet-blue flowers & rounded mid green leaves which turn deep red in autumn. Long flowering season from June to September. Very attractive to butterflies.
Flowers: June - September
Height: 75cm, Spread: 60cm
Position: Sun or semi shade in any soil
Packet of 30 seeds
Sowing Instructions: Sow at any time of year.
Sow on the surface of a moist, free-draining seed compost (eg. John Innes) and just cover with a fine sprinkling of sieved compost or vermiculite/perlite. Propagate at 13-18C in a propagator, greenhouse or on a shade windowsill indoors, keeping the compost slightly moist at all times. Germination should take place in 30-90 days. As most of the seedlings begin to emerge, very gradually increase ventilation by opening the propagator vents or the bag.
Growing Instructions: When the seedlings are large enough to handle, pot up individually into 9cm pots and grow on in well-ventilated conditions at about 10 to 15C. When well established, gradually acclimatise to cooler conditions. Plant out in the garden in late spring or early autumn in a sunny or semi-shaded position 50cm apart.
