Without a doubt the most majestic of all ornamental grasses with large, creamy-white stately ostrich feather-like plumes rising up from a mass of tufted, narrow foliage. Easy to raise from seed, fast growing and should produce plumes in the second year.

GROWING GUIDE

Sowing Instructions: Sow late winter to late spring, and late summer to late autumn.  Sow onto the surface of a moist, free-draining seed compost (eg. John Innes). Do not cover seed and do not exclude light which is beneficial to germination. Propagate at 15 to 18C in a propagator, greenhouse or on a windowsill indoors sealed in a polythene bag. Germination should begin to take place in 14 to 21 days. As soon as some of the seedlings begin to emerge, ventilate gradually, maintain a temperature of around 15C and take care not to over-water.

Growing Instructions: Grow the seedlings on, shaded lightly from direct sunlight and when large enough to handle, pot up individually into 8 or 9cm pots. When large enough, plant out into well-drained soil in a sunny position.

Due to phytosanitary regulations we are unable to send seeds outside the UK.  If a mail forwarding service in the UK is used to send your order abroad, please be aware that we will not take responsibility for orders confiscated by customs.

          
 

If an order is returned to us as undelivered by the postal service, we will refund the cost of the products purchased, not the delivery charge. When a service other than standard delivery is used, we will also deduct this from the refund (eg. signed for, special delivery or courier charges).  It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the delivery address on the order is correct.
