Flowers: Late summer to early autumn
Height: 90cm, Spread: 60cm
Packet of 25 seeds
Sowing Instructions: Can be sown at any time of year. Sow at a depth of about 3mm in pots or trays of moist, peat-based seed compost (eg. Levington), then place in a propagator or seal in a polythene bag and maintain a temperature of 20-25C. Reducing the soil temperature at night aids germination which takes 10-30 days. As the seedlings emerge, gradually increase ventilation by opening the bag or propagator vents.
They can also be sown outdoors during summer in a sheltered spot out of direct sunlight.
Growing Instructions: Pot on when large enough to handle into 7-9cm pots and grow in cooler conditions. Overwinter if necessary in frost-free conditions, ie. greenhouse or insulated coldframe. In spring, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions, before planting out when all risk of frost has passed, 45-60cm apart in a sunny position.
