GROWING GUIDE
Pre-Sowing Treatment: Soak seeds in hand hot water for several hours until they start to swell.
Sowing Instructions: Sow at any time of the year except early to mid summer. Sow 3mm deep in a moist, well-drained, seed compost, eg. John Innes, in pots or trays. Seal in a polythene bag or place in a propagator and maintain an optimum temperature of 18-21C. Germination should occur after 15-60 days. As the seedlings emerge, gradually increase ventilation by opening the bag or propagator vents.
Growing Instructions: Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 9cm pots. Grow on in cooler conditions (about 15C) with plenty of light, but shaded from direct sun and overwinter, if necessary, at about 5C. When established, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions and grow on until mature enough to be planted out in the garden, 90cm apart in a sunny or semi shaded position.
Caution: Harmful if eaten. Note: If seeds are a blue-green colour, they are filmcoated to protect against disease. Please wash hands after handling.
