Meconopsis cambrica (Welsh Poppy) seeds

A lovely small yellow poppy which flowers prolifically throughout the summer and self seeds readily. Great for brightening up shady areas of the garden as it prefers part-shade.

GROWING GUIDE

Sowing Instructions: Sow at any time of the year. Sow thinly on the surface of a moist, free-draining seed compost (John Innes recommended) in pots or trays. Seal in a polythene bag and propagate at 15-20C either indoors or outside in a coldframe depending on the time of year. Germination can take from 1 to 3 months and can be erratic hence the need to sow the seeds thinly.

Growing Instructions: As the seedlings begin to emerge open the bag to increase ventilation and grow on at about 15C. When seedlings are large enough to handle, carefully pot up individually into 8-9cm pots taking care not to disturb the rest of the compost too much. Grow on until mid/late spring when they can be planted out 30cm apart in ordinary garden soil in part shade.
