GROWING GUIDE

Sowing Instructions: Sow at any time of the year. Sow very thinly in trays or pots on the surface of moist ericaceous compost. Do not cover the seed as light is beneficial to germination and place in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag. Maintain an optimum temperature of 18-21 and germination should start after 30 days but may take several months. Note: Germination can be very erratic, so sow thinly and prick out the seedlings as they become large enough to handle disturbing the rest of the compost as little as possible.

Growing Instructions: Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into small pots (7-9cm). Grow on in cooler conditions and if necessary, over-winter at a temperature of about 5C. Harden off and plant out when all risk of frost has passed in acid soil or pots of ericaceous compost in a semi-shaded position.
