GROWING GUIDE
- Sow February to April on the surface of a moist, free-draining seed compost and just cover the seed with a fine sprinkling of compost.
- Seal in a polythene bag and place on a bright windowsill or in a propagator and maintain at a minimum temperature of 20C.
- Check regularly to make sure the compost has not dried out and water as necessary.
- Germination should take 14 to 30 days.
- As the seedlings emerge, increase ventilation by opening the bag or propagator vents.
- When large enough to handle, pot up individually into 9cm pots and grow the seedlings on at a slightly cooler temperature.
- Keep watered and pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushiness.
- When well established, in mid spring gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions by placing them outdoors during the day for 2 weeks before planting out.
