Toona sinensis (Chinese Mahogany) seeds
Striking, medium sized tree with large, divided leaves that emerge salmon pink in spring, changing to creamy yellow then rich green in summer. Pretty, fragrant, green-white flowers appear in July hanging in dense, drooping panicles. All parts of the tree are scented and the wood is burnt in temples in Asia to infuse them with its delicate fragrance. Toona wood is also excellent for furniture as it is durable and easy to work with.
Fabulous as a specimen garden tree - something very different!
