GROWING GUIDE
Sowing Instructions: Can be sown at any time of year except early-mid-summer. Sow on the surface of moist seed compost (eg. John Innes), and just cover with sieved compost of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal in a polythene bag and maintain a temperature of around 20C. Reducing the soil temperature at night aids germination which takes 15-30 days. As the seedlings emerge, gradually increase ventilation by opening the bag or propagator vents.
Growing Instructions: Pot on when large enough to handle into 7-9cm pots and grow in cooler conditions. Overwinter if necessary in frost-free conditions, ie. greenhouse or insulated coldframe. In spring, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions, before planting out when all risk of frost has passed, 30cm apart in a sunny position.
